Celebrations to Remember Love and Starting Anew-
Whether your ceremony will involve you both in ending the relationship in a ceremonial way or just one of you gaining closure and release, a Divorce or Separation Ceremony can be very healing as it acknowledges what was, creates peace for the present and inspires hope for the future. If you have children, a Divorce or Separation Ceremony can help children understand that they are still loved and cherished by both parents, even though the family dynamic is changing.
Inclusions in the ceremony are as varied as your imagination.
If you are sharing the ceremony with your ex partner, perhaps you would like to light individual candles from a main candle and then blow out the main candle to symbolise the ending of the union and the beginnings of individual journeys.
If you are sharing the ceremony with your ex partner and your children, perhaps you might like to make vows together as parents to your children.
If you are not sharing the ceremony with your ex, you might like to make new vows to yourself or announce reverting to your maiden name.
Any way you choose to go, there are so many ways to make the ceremony special and unique and Margie is here to help you craft something that will help you acknowledge the change in journey meaningfully.

Giving Back-
I know all too well the pain of divorce and understand the grief and anger of that time after the loss of the relationship. I’ve also experienced from the perspective of daughter as after over 25 years of marriage, my parents ended their journey together and continued on separate paths. Many years on from my divorce now, I can honestly say that I bear no ill will to my ex-husband and wish him all the best. Unfortunately, not all women can leave a relationship with respect and dignity and domestic abuse remains a major problem in Australia.
Each month, I choose a different charity to support. One of these charities is to my local Women’s Refuge- Carrie’s Place. Carrie’s Place provides a range of culturally appropriate programs for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and/or homelessness. They employ highly qualified workers with specialist skills who provide case management and court advocacy, to assist people to move forward with their lives with independence, safety, and security. Carrie’s Place has been providing services in the Maitland and Hunter area since 1979 and believes that everyone has the right to feel safe all the time.
